Monkey Takes Part in World Autism Awareness Day

Autism affects millions of people worldwide, and in the UK an estimated 1% of the adult population have autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Autism is one of only four health conditions that have official United Nations’ Days, in the form of World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD).

Following its successful launch in 2007, WAAD takes place this year on April 2nd and you can take part by backing the  ’light it up blue’  campaign. All you have to do is shine a blue light on April 2nd in your home, workplace or community centre. If you’d like to get involved online, use the hashtag #LIUB along with any images or videos of you  ‘lighting it up blue’  in your local area.

Monkey has already got into the spirit of things with his bold, new blue look in our fun WAAD poster.
